About

Hi, I’m Eddie Paz, a writer, marketer, and filmmaker based out of Toronto, Ontario. I graduated from the University of Toronto – St. George in 2020 with an Honours Bachelors of Arts in Cinema Studies and English.

During my studies, I was an Arts & Culture Columnist for Canada’s largest student newspaper, The Varsity, primarily working on film, art, and music journalism. Since graduating, I have focused my career on both freelance film criticism and content marketing roles at B2B and B2C SaaS tech companies and startups, including Autodesk and SoleSavy.

As a Content Marketing Specialist and Community Content Producer at Autodesk, I was responsible for the strategy, production, and marketing of customer stories across the Architecture, Design & Manufacturing, and Media & Entertainment industries. I interviewed dozens of Autodesk customers ranging from 3D modellers and VFX artists to architects and aerospace engineers in order to create engaging and humanizing marketing content out of their individual stories. Other duties included managing A/B email campaigns, working on front-end with UI/UX teams, and the execution of onsite marketing initiatives. In 2024, I helped organize onsite Community events at the San Diego Conference Center as part of AU2024, an annual trade-show and educational conference hosted by the company, further solidifying my love for community building.

Prior to my role at Autodesk, I was the Lead Content Editor for SoleSavy, a startup focused on the intersection between sneaker culture and tech. As Lead Content Editor, I was in charge of the company’s content strategy, production, and marketing. I produced daily aggregate news, listicles, and editorials for use across all social media platforms as well as commissioned, edited, and published the work of all contributing writers. I have also worked as a freelance writer, publishing film and video game criticism for online publications such as FanByte.com and written video scripts for popular online content creators including NachoAverageFinds (223,000+ YouTube subscribers as of Jan ’26).

My first short film, Death of an Epigraph, premiered at the 2020 Toronto Short Film Festival, followed by the online release of my second short, For the Love of Eva, in 2021. I was also an Actor and Production Assistant on the feature films Night is Limpid (2022) and Gangsterism (2025) by acclaimed, experimental Canadian filmmaker Isiah Medina.

In my free time, I’m either filming or editing new material or recording original music full of guitars, synthesizers, and some funky drum machines.
